GatherNYC is a revolutionary Sunday morning concert experience.

Held on Sunday mornings in Manhattan, GatherNYC evokes the community and spiritual nourishment of a religious service, but the religion here is music, and all are welcome.

Guests are served exquisite live classical music by New York’s most celebrated artists, artisanal coffee and pastries, a taste of the spoken word, and a brief celebration of silence. The entire experience lasts one hour.

In these unsettling times, GatherNYC provides a place to fortify beauty and peace.

Laura Metcalf, “a cellist whose passion for music is as evident as her artistry and talent” (i care if you listen), is known worldwide as a compelling soloist and chamber musician. Her debut solo album was lauded as “brilliant” by Gramophone, and is a member of the popular chamber ensembles The Overlook and Break of Reality.

Australian-born guitarist Rupert Boyd has been described as “truly evocative” (The Washington Post) and “a very fine musician” (Gramophone). His performances have taken him across four continents, and his most recent solo album, The Guitar, was described as “an utterly exceptional recording” (Classical Guitar Magazine).

Cellist
Laura Metcalf and classical guitarist Rupert Boyd are the founders and co-artistic directors of GatherNYC. They also happen to be married (to each other), and together comprise the ensemble Boyd Meets Girl. They released their self-titled debut album in 2017, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Traditional Classical Chart, and received the following review in Gramophone: “They play like one, with a harmony of purpose as sure as their intonation.” Over the past several years they have toured together throughout the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Nepal and India.
